RumJunkie

RumJunkie were formed in Taunton, Somerset around July 2003 from the remnants of Iconic Local Punk Heroes CiderMetalFite. Frowdey and Aaron decided to form a three-piece power outfit, moving away from the twin guitar punk of CMF towards a heavier but more melodic sound that would become RumJunkie. Seeking a drummer they met James at a local rock club and were soon churning out songs that would define the RumJunkie Sound.

In 2006, Jusin Towell joined the band on guitar, for some Twin Lead Mayhem. Justin came to RumJunkie from the Mighty Unseen Envy and was intially helping out through the Rock and Blues Custom show but we persuaded him to stay with the promise of cheap booze and sexual favours. The ethos behind RumJunkie was to be in no way limited by any genre, if it was felt that something sounded right and worked, then they would go with it. RumJunkie were eager to get away from the limitations that were imposed throughout previous bands. However, RumJunkie have developed their own sound that pervades all their original material and the covers that they perform.

RumJunkie have played constantly since forming with a regular slot at local pub the Black Horse and have gathered support in the local music scene, quickly being recognised as one of the premiere local bands. Taunton, being a small town however, has limited the number of gigs they can play and they are currently actively seeking events outside the area recently playing in Tiverton with gigs being planned in Exeter, Bristol and Bodmin.

RumJunkie have also played live on BBC Somerset Sounds on the Morning Jo Phillips show to great success.

Spoon Thieves

A Taunton-based 3-piece, the Spoons have quality songwriting and a blistering live sound at the top of their agenda, and the result is a collection of tunes (and indeed, pedals) to be jealous of, as well as a reputation for consistently impressive performances with dazzling guitar sounds that'll melt your face off.

They are proud of being somewhat uncategorisable, but influences include  Radiohead, Muse, Bluetones and Counting Crows.  They also have some of  the finest fan t-shirts and mugs in the business."

Noddy's Older
Slade's alive and kicking in the South West of England. And just like Del and Rodney are internationally famous in Paris, New York and Taunton
White Noize

Based in Taunton in the UK White NoiZe encompass a coming together of several musical influences, which fuse together into one of the South Wests most talented new acts.

Eminating from the ashes of a trail of former bands and projects (Snowfish, Looking for Graham, Thick as Thieves), The current line up came together in 2001, initially playing the local cover bands circuit while other projects and life rattled on. In the summer of 2004 White NoiZe was formed, the covers were scrapped and the rest was history.

Early White NoiZe gigs have gone down a storm, and the crowds attention has been totally fixated towards the band. To describe what they sound like in words wouldnt be doing them justice, however their songs are infectiously catchy, with real-life lyrics, catchy guitar riffs and four-part harmonies to shake your soul, the sound just grows and grows! Musical influences range from the usuaul indie suspects to the Jam, Weller, Supergrass, The Kinks. To say they were a Mod band would be a lie, but to say they had no MOD qualities would be a fallacy!

Group 4

Group 4 are two musicians based in Somerset, who began by recording their music and then decided to perform it live at music venues in the South West of England. Consisting of song writer Keith Allen and musician / sound engineer Richard Parsons, Group 4 aim to distill their interest in songwriting and production, into a sound that blends acoustic folk and moody pop. The subject matter of their songs includes observations on the good and bad sides of family relationships, a lullaby and the disturbed mind of a stalker!

Combining bluesy acoustic guitar, sequenced beats and ethnic percussion, their music hits the sweet spot between up-beat resolve and retrospective melancholy.

The Slow Cones
The bringing together of diverse musical styles and backgrounds gives The Slow Cones their unique M5 Axis sound. The original material, developed since October 2007, reflects the contrasting songwriting approaches of Martin and Doug. The americana influenced covers which complement the original songs are given a distinctly British feel by Keith, Richard, Doug and Martin ~ The Slow Cones.
The Luscious Rickys

The Luscious Rickys are 'tauntons hottest indie upstarts'.

They are a four piece indie/punk sensation with vocals/ollie owen, guitar/george atherton, bass/josh mosley and drums/sim rodgers.

The lads have supported the likes of the sunshine underground, the infadels, gear, chikinki and ian wills as well as headlining about 30 shows since they formed in early 2006.

Check out www.myspace.com/thelusciousrickysmusic1 to hear their debut EP 'The Fashion'.

The Whole Hog
The band grew out of the ashes of 'Red Dog', changing bass player and drummer (several times - in fact, we've had more drummers than Spinal Tap). The band in it's present form has been together for eight years with original members Tim and Ern creating music together since 1990. The original line-up was very blues influenced, but over the years and with the final stability of the line-up, new influences in the choice of music have become apparent. Material is now chosen from band members personal favourites, providing it's got less than five chords so that Ernie can remember it, and while the band is predominantly a rock and blues band, numbers now include everything from soul classics like Otis Redding's 'Try a Little Tenderness' and Irma Franklin's 'Take a Little Piece of my Heart' to hard rock standards such as the Who's 'Won't Get Fooled Again' and Led Zeppelin's 'Since I've Been Loving You'. The band are best known locally for their continuing support of traditional Irish industries, which takes the form of imbibing large amounts of Guinness and for their secret devotion to 'Arnold Layne' syndrome.Venues played include the usual gamut of local pubs and clubs together with many of the local festivals in the summer months, such as the Newt, Blackdown and Awliscombe beer festivals.
The Treefrogs
Formed in 1997, The Treefrogs decided early on, they would play their music, their way. Blues, funk and R & B mix to form a truly original sound. They play with a passion and feel that you don''t get from a covers band. Sure they do a handful of covers in the set, but the real beauty of this band is the original songs that have been crafted in front of 1000''s of people all over the South West. The music of The Treefrogs has a great groove thanks to the monster rhythm section of James Cross on drums, and Brads on the Bass. Rob Bowerman''s guitar is absolutely crucial to the band. He has a feel and sound that are totally unique. In fact, when you hear Rob play it''s hard not to get shivers up your spine. Toby on Keyboards is a welcome new addition to the band and fattens out the sound with his virtuoso Hammond and Rhodes playing. Danny Corrick plays percussion and adds to the backing vocals with his colourful harmonies. Frontman and lead vocalist David Greenwood also plays keyboard. His superb voice and performance combine to make The Treefrogs sound complete.
